Ett måste för alla som är i eller ska till Berlin nästa vecka är att se Thomas Demands fotografier på Neue Nationalgalerie. En fantastiskt fin utställning som visas till och med den 17 januari.
Om Thomas Demands sätt att arbeta:
Thomas Demand is not a photographer in the conventional sense. He does not record the world we live in but its appearance in the media. On the basis of existing picture material, often taken from there, Thomas Demand first (re)constructs the depicted spaces as life-size sculptures made from paper and cardboard. He then takes pictures of these sculptures with a plate camera and in a carefully arranged light setting before destroying them.
